V: CCV / VIRTUAL DRIVE SIMULATOR

The name changed. The fingerprint didn’t.

Open the simulated V: CCV workspace, place a sample audit file, then rename it. Filename search loses the label. Content hashing keeps the identity.

Real fingerprints, simulated drive and recovery. No drive is mounted and no business files are accessed. Real recovery requires a retained copy; a hash cannot recreate lost data.

01 / RENAME

Only the filename changes. The sample’s binary contents stay identical.

02 / RECOGNIZE

is calculated from both copies. Matching fingerprints identify the unchanged contents.

03 / RECOVER

The simulator restores the original name and flags a duplicate. Real recovery needs a stored original, not just its hash.
